Legal Focus

Carey advises Houston-area business owners, investors, and families on legal matters involving businesses, property, estates, and the transfer of assets. Her practice is particularly focused on helping clients anticipate problems, structure important transactions, and protect the businesses and assets they have worked to build.

Business Law

Assisting business owners with formation, operating documents, contracts, business and asset purchases, ownership transfers, and other legal matters that arise throughout the life of a business.

Probate

Guiding executors, beneficiaries, and families through the Texas probate process, including estate administration, asset distribution, outstanding liabilities, and disputes that may arise while settling an estate.

Estate Planning

Helping individuals, families, and business owners create estate plans designed around their assets, responsibilities, and long-term goals, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related planning documents.

Real Estate

Advising clients on residential and commercial real estate matters, including purchases, commercial leases, contracts, property transactions, and real estate issues involving business owners and investors.

LEGAL PHILOSOPHY

Built to Protect What Matters.
Focused on What Comes Next.

Carey’s philosophy is rooted in a simple idea: legal counsel should help people protect what they have built without making the process more complicated than it needs to be.

That is especially important for business owners. A company is rarely just a company. It can represent years of work, financial investment, family security, property, employees, and plans for the future. Carey works with clients to understand that larger picture before recommending a legal strategy.

Her approach is practical rather than performative. Clients should understand their options, the risks involved, and why a particular course of action makes sense. That means explaining complicated legal issues clearly, identifying potential problems early, and focusing legal work on the client's actual goals.

Whether Carey is helping structure a business transaction, address a real estate matter, develop an estate plan, or navigate probate, the objective remains the same: protect what the client has built and create a clear path forward.

That philosophy is also central to SimpleLawTX. The firm was created around straightforward legal guidance, transparent communication, and making complex legal matters easier for clients to understand and manage.
